Archie Comics

Managing editor Victor Gorelick, left, with co-owners and co-publishers Michael Silberkleit and Richard Goldwater, at the Archie Comics building in Mamaroneck, New York.

Did you know that Archie is in fact eternally 16 years old? Did you know that he is in his 67th year? Did you know that he first appeared on December 22, 1941? Aren’t these trivia or what? Ha-ha. My all time favorite comic book has history and it really goes a long way back since WWII! Can you believe it? It has surpassed many events and still its popularity is always at its peak. It is on the same rank as popular pop culture icons such as Mickey Mouse and Superman!

I don’t remember when the first time I got hold of an Archie Comic was, all I know is that ever since then I became a fan and I started collecting. Even though the storylines maybe repeating from one issue to another and there may be times when it is exactly the same comic, you still get hooked and you buy more and more. An Archie comic provides a light read and personally when I get a hold of one it almost as if I’m in Riverdale and I forget about my problems.
