Bianca Gonzalez inspired my 2007.

last summer of 2006, i met Ate Bianca on the set of y-speak. I was with Ate Bianca's high school bestbud, Ate Justine Ferrer, who paved the way for me to meet her. (i got my mom to convince her!) i did meet her for a brief moment. After watching her talk, do her spiels and debate for a bit, i had my chance. i wasn't really there for a photo session, all i wanted to do was to talk to her. haha! anyways, she then started saying that she couldn't believe i was this tall for someone who is 14 (i'm already 15 now but i still get that a lot.) and she then asked where did i go to school (at that time i already graduated from elementary.) after that she then took off. suddenly appearing in her superman costume for her to do her hosting chores in pbb teens! she greeted me with my first name and waved at me and that was it. end of our meeting.

meeting her and making it a big thing may seem so shallow. but my reason for meeting her was not because i wanted to get a photo with an ex-pbb housemate or to be able to have a photo with any celebrity. it was more than that. it was my photo with my idol and role model. that is why when i met her it was such a big deal for me. she is someone who i look up to (and i'm glad there is still that someone.)

of course, i got to know more out of bianca when she did her stint in the pbb house. i mean, the whole country fell in love with the super down-to-earth, well-mannered, prim and proper, morena-skinned, petite, model: Bianca! not only did the country adored her but also bianca caught the ire of some people when she admittedly fell for someone inside the house. since then, Bianca became known to everyone.

for my part, i like ate bianca because she got the ideals of someone who i want to be when i grow up. (and that doesn't include me wearing dresses and the like.) she is an advocate for the youth! she makes well-informed opinions and she is determined in changing the world in her own trademark way. through her blog i discovered her passion in making the world a better place. a cliche at that but is still possible. (she posted in her blog once: "that a person who said it can not be done should not get in the way of someone doing it!") she has inspired me to reach for my dreams and that dream is to be like her someday.

this year i was the best debater in an honors section debate in my school. motivated of course by the y-speak debater herself! i was also part of the japan student exchange program that allowed us to stay in japan for a week to study and live with our own foster family. influenced of course by the very well-traveled ate biancs. i think i was also a better person this year because i made more friends now that i'm in the second year. i was awarded the "mr. nice guy award" when we had our social interaction and i was more confident and i handled myself well this year.

i neither want to be called her fan nor her copycat. i'm just someone who looks up to her because i'm aware she has been a positive role model that influenced me to be on the right track!

whew! that was a very serious post.. now moving on to a lighter post!

10 things that makes me LOVE bianca more!

1. she knows her niche in the industry. she isn't one of those celebrities who want to act, dance, sing and host all at the same time! haha! sorry to those who got hurt. but ate biancs, knows her forte and doesn't go overboard nor does she undermines her capabilities! :D
2. she came from La Salle and Ateneo! that's because i studied at Xavier university (ateneo de cagayan) in cagayan de oro before moving to Manila. I'm currently studying at La Salle Greenhills and i'm hoping to pass ACET and move on with college life in ADMU! (blue-green blooded! :P)
3. she still hangs-out with old friends. i love my friends too! they are like my family. and ate bianca does hang-out with old friends. i think that makes her level-headed and humble.
4. she has a close relationship with God! receiving her k-texts before she always has this excerpts from the bible and she always informs her subscribers that she has been to the church on a particular sunday! Ad Majorem dei gloriam!
5. she loves her family more than anything. her travel buddy is her sister and remember when she went to California to surprise her brother? wow. it's so impressive how close knit their relationship is... aww...
6. she totally knows hollywood. bianca is probably the only filipino celebrity i like. no.. there are others but at least she isn't one of those who are really constricted in the filipino showbiz system. i like it when she shares about ellen and other Us shows its because i also dig hollywood!!! BUT WE STILL ARE PROUD TO BE PINOY! :P
7. she doesn't speak like a valley girl. you know those pinoy celebs who talk like they're an A-lister in hollywood or those who just came from the states and talk this way: "yeah... basically... like... yeah... haha" and think they're cute and all...
8. she is very articulate. she speaks and expresses her opinions really well! i like the way she speaks and that she doesn't talk like the others who are trying their hardest but just doesn't register! :))
9. she is smart! i mean the fact that she passed ateneo should already prove my point! haha.. she indulges herself in intelligent conversations and she has insights that are really, really, really, worth reading! hahah!
10. she models really well! bianca started as a model but as destiny dictated she has shared her talent also in hosting. beauty and brains at its best! :)) i've seen her first in that big billboard for pinksoda and the numerous covers she had are breathtaking.

hey you! i miss you na rin! me and bianca always reminisce about the time we watched her at abs...she still remembers you as a super sweetheart haha! take care!
